In the 70's and 80's, I saw signs everywhere advertising Mother's Hours employment. Now, that I am a Mother and am limited to those hours. There doesn't seem to be any available anymore. Not all Mother's are able to work full-time do to situations out of their control. But, still need to bring some kind of income in.

I am a newely divorced mom of 3 young children and only 2 are in school full time as of yet. I did "party plan" jobs for years, those at home sales ones, and if you put in a lot of work it can be rewarding, the consistency is not there. You can work a week and have no sales and the next do good, but the reality is you wasted time and got nothing for some time. That is just my opinion and I was a regional director and held a corporate position with the company.

Back to mothers hours, I know some resturants have the mothers hours like a shift till 2:00 you can work. For me I still have a little one at home that this was not an option. Remember you are only working part time though. I work at my kids school where they let me bring my youngest, and I substitute there. I am also in the process of opening a home daycare in my house which will allow me to be at home with my kids and work a full week. This works best for me, but everyone is different.

Hope everything works out for you!

I have not found any job that has 'mother's hours'.. . There are some jobs that are family-friendly, but regardless, if you want full-time pay, you have to work full-time hours and I have found that even at family friendly jobs, a supervisor or boss can be difficult. After I had my second child I started selling mary Kay part-time. I didn't expect much out of it, but was able to quit my full-time job after 5 months, which I didn't expect at all. It is still hard work and full-time hours, but I work my schedule around my kids and do as much as I can when they are asleep. For me, Mary Kay was the perfect solution.

I had an executive level job and have a college degree, so my MK income had to be pretty good to leave my job!
