So you are saying Alcohol = happiness? Alcohol = normality?
I'm sure all the people at AA meetings would disagree with you. Yeah you all really look happy and normal on a Friday night falling in the street, vomiting, fighting and urinating. Looks like such happiness doesn't it? Because everyone knows there is nothing more attractive than a drunk 18 year old girl with sick in her hair, reeking of booze, slurring her words with her make up smeared all over her face.
There are plenty of religious people who drink and plenty of non religious people who don't. Whats your point? I don't drink alcohol and I'm not weird or unhappy quite the opposite. But hey just go on thinking your "normal and happy" and worry about your own self and I'll keep being "unhappy and weird" in your opinion and never the twain shall meet. Agreed!

I'm a Christian and I would say that I am generally a happy person. I don't drink alcohol. I just workout a lot and enjoy life with my wife and son. I can't speak for other people, but I think you might be stereotyping religious people a bit. I think there are unhappy people in all walks of life. Religious or not. I think more often than not, religious people are actually pretty happy and hopeful.

I am a christian and I don't drink at all, and I am not in the least bit unhappy. I love life, i enjoy life, and I am living it to the fullest. I don't need alcohol to cloud my judgment or my thinking and the only part that i am weird in is I love a super clean house. Even alcohol couldn't change that fact!

People who don't drink alcohol are more likely to be happy then unhappy and weird. Alcohol causes stress and anger, in time. It kills brain cells which make it harder for people to function and think properly which causes stress and anger. When the "good" effects of the alcohol go away depression will be caused.

Many people of no religion at all do not drink. Many religious people do. I think it has to do more with personal preference. Weird is a relative term...it can apply to anyone. And you cannot truthfully say you have never seen a drunk acting weird.

i personally think people who drink alcohol are more unhappy (while sober) than people who are sober all the time.

i personally don't dig organized religions much, but the healthy lifestyles that some advocate are often a good idea.

Alcohol numbs your senses. The people that drink alcohol are obviously trying to escape reality.
