How does one go about finding a mentor or a personal coach to help find the personal blocks in life and get around them so that one can have a successful way to resolve issues and get ahead in life. I"m struggling on personal, professional and financial measures and desperately need this help.

Unless you are lucky enough to, erm, be experiencing dire problems with alcohol, drugs, over-eating and/or issues with co-dependency or sex (in which case you go to appropriate meetings where you are then encouraged to get yourself a sponsor), it's either a case of joining a cult and availing yourself of a self-proclaimed guru - or Googling someone up and paying them to have a go at organising your own life.

Remember, though, that it is the start of New Year... Everyone's feeling at least some level of doubt over their life-choices thus far... Not to mention all the monies we've spent in the run up to Christmas.... and now the bills are coming in, AND the winter's only just began.

Try not to feel too disheartened. Take a stock of your life today by writing down all the areas in your life that could do with improving. Think about all the stuff you CAN do about it, one thing at a time.

Then write another list, on a separate sheet of paper, with all the things you're grateful for today (can you walk? Are you able to see stuff, like the sky, or trees, or whatever else takes your fancy? Have you got somewhere you can call a home? Any food in the fridge?.. don't suppose I need to tell you that there are plenty of people who haven't got some of the stuff I just mentioned - but it's all too easy for us humans to forget about the things we've got, and lose sleep over the things we don't).

Get a good night sleep - and if you still feel panicky when you wake up, then by all means, get a professional to give your life a jump start...
Then take it from there.

Good luck:)

There are many ways to get to where you want to be in your life. Life Coaching is an established short-cut. Having a Life Coach is like having a best friend trained in efficiently helping you to become more aware of yourself, your wants, your needs and helping you to create a plan to get there. You have help all along the way and ALWAYS have an objective ear to talk to. This is the primary value in coaching.

I am a Life Coach. A year before I became certified, I used a coach myself. I am living proof that coaching works. I am happy, successful and have never enjoyed my life more.

Search the Internet. There are MANY coaching websites...use your gut feeling as to who would be a good match for you as a coach. If your first session isn't free...I would be cautious...a good coach will want to make sure that you are comfortable with them before committing to a group of sessions. Best of luck!!!

Klara's answer is wise and caring, and well worth following. If you still want to consider working with a life coach, contact me via http://www.potential4life.com/ and we can talk. I have some free resources that you are most welcome to use, whether you want to work further with me or not.
