The question is interesting in that we are talking about the opportunity and not so much the outcome of the game. The BCS is failing miserably in it's attempt to crown a national champion each year and everyone knows it. The traditional bowl games seem to be the major hang up and a playoff system would somehow dilute the four major bowl games. I've always said that the bowl games really mean nothing in terms of a national champion and never have. The games still can be played as part of a playoff tournament with the national championship game being played as one of the bowls on a rotating basis. It's not rocket science for Pete sakes.
To finally answer your question, I'd have to say that the Buckeyes would be the overwhelming favorite to win but after what I saw last night it would make for an exciting game. Oklahoma was no pushover to be sure.
Again it's about the opportunity to play for a national championship and the BCS doesn't allow that to happen.

Because the system is in place and was agreed upon before the season started and "public outcry" won't create an extra game.
Ohio St OR Florida would pummel Boise! Boise's in the frickin' WAC, for God sake!

I think ohio state would win, but I also beleive Boise at least deserves a chance. They proved they are one of the elite teams. I really would have loved to see a play off this year, Wisconsin, Michigan, USC, Florida, LSU, Ohio State and Boise all deserved a shot. They really really need to scrap the BCS, they can even scrap the BCS bowls and just take those teams that would have played in them, and put them in the playoffs, keep the rest fof the bowls...just playoffs anyway

Ohio State would win, but, I have always thought that Ohio State should be playing Boise State. They are the only two undefeated teams in the country. This strength of schedule crap is exactly that, crap. Boise State proved that when they beat Oklahoma.

The system is dying. It won't happen this year, but changes could take place next year.
Writers across the country have been dissing the system, saying how there needs to be a playoff. Even ESPN is starting to play into it, making a "how it would happen if it was a playoff" board, crowning LSU as the eventual winner.
People are getting fed up with it, it's going down soon enough.

Because OSU would be the first real football team that Boise State played all year.

Because the BCS already decided that the team with the best chance to beat OSU had their chance, nobody else can beat them. I think OSU would win. Oklahoma isn't that good. Also OSU had a much harder schedule, the big Ten is so much harder to go undefeated in than the WAC.
