I think my voice sounds higher when on the phone. I try not to listen to my voice on the radio either, for that very reason. It just doesn't sound like me.

How different? To you I would sound the same on the phone as I do in person. Down to the expressions, tone, lilt in my voice, accent, speed, laughter and pitch. I don't think phones mask our sound or exaggerate it or alter it. I think we hear ourselves totally differently. But the people we talk to? They hear us the same.
Talking on the phone should be no different than talking in person. You should be able to close your eyes and picture the person and talk to them like they are right there in front of you.
The answer....... its not different at all. It's just reality. :)

I think to other people it sounds the same. The weirdest thing is when I hear a recording of my own voice. It definitely doesn't sound the same as what I am hearing in my head as I speak.

I think very different but then again do we sound the same to ourselves as we do to others, on the phone or in person?

to me in person my voice is ok im a girl so its all good but i hate how i sound on the phone. i feel like i sound like a 3 year old squeaky person or something. i really dont like it.

I've been told I have a sexy phone voice.... But to me it just sounds like a small child's voice!!

It's pretty much the same,but on the phone I sound a little younger.Whenever a telemarketer calls they always ask if my mom or dad are home.

I sound the same...
Except it's huskier on the phone for some reason.
It's odd because sometimes i'll hear myself clearly and just think "whoa, any deeper and i'll sound like a man."

My oldest daughter and I sound just alike on the phone.
