My DELL INSPIRON 600m keeps overheating... It reaches temperatures of 135 fahrenheit. It becomes most annoying when I'm trying to play a game online and it gets so hot that my mouse cursor slows down and everything is "skipping". I have found a temporary solution which involves alternating between two freezer packs to keep it cool but I wish there was a better way.

1.) Does anyone else have this problem?
2.) It is fixable?

NOTE: Back when DELL was recalling batteries, I downloaded a program they provided to see if my battery on the recall list. It wasn't. Perhaps they made a mistake?

As aforementioned, it is a common problem to notebooks. You can get a pad as mentioned below, but one simple solution is to ensure you are not blocking the vents when in use - such as by placing directly on your lap.

Also give the vents a good vacuum every few weeks to prevent dust build-up

well if its over heating send it back to dell right away they have been known to do this in order for a computer to operate at its max it has to be kept as kool as possible. they have also been known to blow up get an acer or hp they are pretty good. the pros have an air conditioner type of thing which blows really cold air into the housing. but id send it back

The batteries were recalled. You have to call dell to get a new one. The factory batteries catch on fire.

EDIT: I have a 600m & mine was recalled. I'd call them & ask, just in case.

Turn it off and report it to Dell and get it fixed immediately!!

It could destroy itself or even burst into flames in your face.

It should not be running this hot.
Something is wrong.
