In my town a drunk driver hit a car and killed a 3 year old little girl. Should the law be tougher on all drunks caught? Would this send a message that we're not going to put up with this anymore?

I think it's a wise idea to make alcohol illegal as well! All it does is impare driving and causes fights at home, too much money being spent on it and way to many in counseling for it. I say "just get rid of it too"! I feel for the family of the three year old ~ what a terrible loss! Just another great reason ~ make it illegal!

well im going through it now for over a year , i feel he didnt get punished enough, in fact the same night he went back to the bar and commented about how he was just in an accident,,so far he last his licence for 60 days,, had to attend aa pay the court 300 dollars, and 30 hrs community service,, the insurance company paid for his truck , tell me what he lost,, oh and of course he wasnt injured,,meanwhile my husband can hardly walk at times,, i have pain everyday,, my 4 yr old throws a fit when my husband drives and i go into panic attacks ,,i think we have paid more than he will ever pay in the eyes of our court system

Drunk drivers kill people, thats a fact, yes there should be madatroy prison sentneces from the very first offense, as well as charges leveled at bartenders and bars who knowingly serve drunks.

how much tougher can they get?, a person loses their licence, their auto, goes to jail, spends thousands on lawyers and court costs and in some cases loses their family.
Maybe the answer is to stop selling the stuff, even a drinking age hasn't changed things, instead of young drunks killing people, it's old drunks killing them.
