Not anymore!
It was demoted to 'dwarf planet' last year. There was a lot of controversy over the decision as the vote was done at the end of a scientific conference when a lot of the scientists had gone and there were a lot of astronomers in favour of demoting who had stayed on because of the vote.

Pluto has been officially demoted from it's status as a planet. The (IAU) International Astronomical Union - August 24, 2006 a news flash reported to the world that Pluto had been stripped of it's status as our solar systems 9th planet after a meeting was held. Pluto is a frigid ball of ice and rock that orbits far from the sun on the frozen fringes of our solar system. Pluto is now one of many "dwarf planets" in our solar system. Although "dwarf planets" are not considered as planets.
