Very tragic. From what I hear the dude was a good guy and very popular with his teammates. I hope the investigation doesn't lead to some criminal activities.

Anytime anyone gets shot and killed it's tragic. It's a real loss for all NFL fans. But I do find something about this incident very interesting and a little disturbing. Some of the comments from other NFL players were a little more of a warning than a message of sympathy. Joey Porter of the Steelers said something to the effect that you have to watch your back all the time. Just because you play in the NFL doesn't mean that you're safe. We may find out in the coming weeks that Darrent had some issues with other people that may have been gang-related or was a revenge-type of event. The money and the clout of being an NFL player attracts the bad as well as the good. Then again, it might have been random. Regardless, it's a real loss for everyone.

You see this type of stuff happening more and more. It's unfortunate. Look at the Tank Johnson situation and Proof from D12 ... same type of deal at a night club. Not only athletes, but everyone needs to be more responsible when going out to a club. We all know the alcohol flows and if things get heated, we need to use more common sense and either cool down or just walk away. It's not worth loosing your life. I like going just as much of the rest of you, but we have to be more careful in this day and age.

Someone had probably had a little to much to drink and then was really mad at the Broncos for not winning and then when they were younger maybe or if they have family someone could of been in a gang and that was just payback because when you leave a gang they tend to do stuff like that or maybe it was a robbery gone bad it could be so many different things.

I think its awful when anybody dies, especially when they have a really bright future and the potential to do great things in their life. He had a bright future ahead of him and its depressing so see that cut down in any profession not just because hes a professional athlete, but because hes a human being

I am heartsick about it. He was a bright star that was becoming brighter with every game. He had the potential to be a top corner in the league. I've watched him since his first game and always thought he was going to be special. HE seemed to be guy of character and a real team player...He will be missed. He was one of my favor tie broncos......I saw on the Denver website that you can send your condolences to the family and team.......

I think I won't be going out to a nightclub in Denver anytime soon. This is just the latest in a long sting of shootings there.

He was indeed a versatile player and a key component to the Broncos D and special teams. All this nightclub violence is so tragic

Its so sad! I was 3 blocks away when this happened. Everyone is just in shock.....can't believe something like this would happen in Denver...or anywhere else for that matter. I am anxiously awaiting for cops to catch whoever did this.
