i was 7mos before it started coming out positive. i know hard to believe huh? i also didn't find out about her until i was 6mos, and i almost lost her because we were rear-ended at 70 mph.
i have recently been told why my tests always come back negative though, and the reason has to do with hormonal imbalances. i have fewer than 3 periods a year and the hormone the tests look for is there, but it's so miniscule it will show negative. if you really feel that you may be pregnant, talk to your doc and do a sonogram. imagine my surprise when i was strapped to the gurney and my stomache was visibly dancing around.(ever seen the movie alien?)just about had a heart attack.
if you are, great. if you're not, keep trying. it'll happen.

The same thing happened to me. I am almost 2 months pregnant now. But I took like 3 pregnancy tests and they all read negative. I took a first response the week before I missed my period, and I took two the following week, all were neg. I recently took another one last Wednesday and it was positive. I am now 7 1/2 weeks, so pregnancy hormone showed up late. If you think you are pregnant, try one more test than go to the doctor so they can give you a blood test and that will show for sure.

My first pregnancy showed up negative until I was 9 weeks along( I only got tested at the doctors- twice a week for 2 weeks!), the second took 8 weeks( I took a HPT the morning before going to the doctors- it was negative the doctors was positive!). If you really feel you are pregnant and have all the symptoms- you probably are. HPT are meant to be really accurate-most say 99%. However I am living proof that they are not always correct.

I just went through this myself, I'm actually in the hospital now, I had been taking HPT's since July of 06 to September of 06, all came back negative, and December 8 I felt feet kicking in my stomach, finally I went to the doctor and had blood drawn and found out that I was 6 whole months pregnant! So if you think you may be pregnant go get your blood drawn or be in for a shock like me! HPT's are NOT accurate

Yes...with my current pregnancy...got negative home tests first few times I took them...took a few weeks more to get a valid positive...but I was pretty sure I was pregnant. I KNOW it's not that I "got" pregnant between tests because my husband was away during that time and I know exactly (within four days) WHEN I conceived this baby (pregnant w/#6). Now 5 1/2 months...no doubts LOL...Good Luck to you.

If you take a test before the right time, ie after your period was due, then If yo are pregnant it should apper positive. When we were trying for our second child, very month I was eagar to find out, and took tests to soon, then you will get a negative result.
Wait until after your period is due, if you take a test and its still negitive, wait a acouple of days and take another test, if that one is still negitive, and you still have not had your period, then see your gp.

I once got a test that said i was not pregnant so i went to the doctor and had a blood test done and he said that i was. Shortly after i was under alot of stress, my presure was high and i lost it. Then there was a time i got a positive test result and when i went to the doctor he told me i wasn't. he said it was something with proteins and my hormonal level at that time. Then i did a test that neither told me if i was pregnant or not. I was stressed out again and went to the doctor he said i had to take things cool. Relax myself.
So my advice to you is to go see a doctor.

No, a negative was always a negative for me.
If you are 4 weeks late on your period, call your doctor for a blood test.

How many tests have you taken? If you really feel you are pregnant, go to see the doctor and get a real accurate test
