It is definitely on Epiphany 6th Jan, otherwise it's bad luck!!

Epiphany is the twelve day of christmas and when the wise men reached the stable to see Jesus.

The time before Christmas tends to be busy, hectic, lots of running around. I find I enjoy the tree the most in the quiet period between Christmas and New Year and even more in the week following. In the next couple of days I will wander into the room, put on some music and just sit for a little and watch the tree. Maybe read a little but also just remember past Christmases, and this Christmas, and think about the year starting.

I'm a traditionalist - I keep the tree until January 6th.

The Victorians had a tradition that said the last of the Christmas decorations needed to be down by February. That's when I take my wreath off the door. Take down your tree any time you want to -- and when you have some time to clean up needles!

Whenever you're well rested enough from the rushing of the holidays. Then go take down the tree. Usually takes at least a week to get rested tho :)

It's different for everyone - so I'd say whenever you want. We keep our tree up until New's Years Day. It's a tradition and our kids like having it up through both holidays. It makes New Year's more special.

Nomally you should keep it up through New Years and take it down right after.

To me, this gives a better sense of the new year, a fresh, clean start.
