More than likely you will. I'm 41 and was with a company for five years. One year everyone in the accounting dept. quit except me. I did it all billing, A/P, credit checks, deposits, A/R etc. Then the owner hired a new COO who wanted only his people there. So he hired a lady who had no accounting experience and she proceeded to get her brother into the accounting dept. Well he's all of 22 and the company his paying for him to go to school. One day he told me that the company was setting it up for him to replace the controller one day. They made the same offer to me to go to school. But with child support and knowing it was a dead end job I began looking elsewhere. Anyway to make a long story short I was let go for following their instructions. But I really was let go because of my age. Sorry! P.S. Its illegal to age discriminate also. Its on the books. Good luck!

Somewhat. If you don't look older than 40, you should be okay though. Keep your resume simple and do not list too many unrelated job experience.

There's no barrier...it's actually an advantage to be older because people will think you have more experience.
Therefore, act like you are a successful financial guy
