No, not the oil. Just coincidence.
Old cars break, even Hondas.

No. 5w30 actually protects better than the 10w40 of twenty years ago. There's not really any need for it in that old an engine since the clearances aren't all that tight any more, but it wouldn't have hurt.
You need to find why the engine locked, and the reason should be apparent.

Better deal is the 1999. See if you could ask them to lower the 2000 to 4K or lower, then get that instead. Better car since both are Accords, will be the younger and lower miles. But for the price difference the 1999 is the better deal. The difference in age and miles are not by much anyways.

Definately. 5w30 is an oil with very low viscosity. So the engine might have been locked because of oil.

Did they actually put oil back in it or did some idiot put transmission fluid in the engine (Wal Mart)? Sounds like a lawsuit!

POSITIVELY NOT CAUSED BY THE OIL ! IF LEVEL WAS FULL AND ENGINE LOCKED UP YOU PROBABLY SPUN A BEARING. OIL PRESSURE LIGHT HAS PROBABLY BEEN COMING ON AND YOU DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHY

Are you sure the timing belt didn't break?
It wasn't the oil.
