Assuming you mean the shallow version of success that is attached to money, that is easy to refute. My father was a welder-a damned good one too. He worked long and hard-throwing around iron all day in a sweltering shop. At about 5'7" he was a stout red headed Irishman who always wore a skull cap. He also stayed poor-no matter how much he worked, he never moved up past that. We were always-with two full time working parents-one paycheck away from bankruptcy. While he was successful in my eyes-I doubt that he is in the eyes of those who see only money-so I think he serves as a good example.
