Lots of them lol
All snakes are carnivorous, eating small animals including lizards and other snakes, rodents and other small mammals, birds, eggs or insects. Some snakes have a venomous bite, which they use to kill their prey before eating it. Other snakes kill their prey by constriction. Still others swallow their prey whole and alive.
Only about 450 species of snakes are venomous (with only about 250 that are able to kill a human), and among the 7,000 Americans bitten by venomous snakes every year, fewer than fifteen die (lightning kills more). A venomous snake is a snake that uses modified saliva, venom, delivered through fangs in its mouth, to immobilize or kill its prey. The term poisonous snake is infact false, due to the fact that poison is inhaled or ingested whereas venom is injected.
It has recently been suggested that all snakes are in fact venomous to some degree. Snakes all evolved from a common lizard ancestor that was poisonous, from which poisonous lizards like the gila monster and beaded lizard also derived. The research suggests that snakes all have venom glands, even species thought totally harmless such as the corn snake, commonly kept as a pet. What differentiates 'venomous' from 'non-venomous' is the evolution of a venom delivery system, the most advanced being that of vipers, with fangs that are hinged to prevent self envenomation, and curl out as the snake strikes.
The black mamba is the largest venomous snake in Africa, with an extremely potent neurotoxic venom that is often fatal to humans without access to proper first aid and subsequent antivenom treatment. Prior to the availability of antivenom, envenomations by members of this genus had a nearly 100% fatality rate. However, with antivenom being much more available today, fatalities have become much rarer. Mambas will detect and get away from humans as fast as possible.
The Western green mamba (D. viridis) and Eastern green mamba, (D. angusticeps), although less venomous than the Black mamba (D. polylepis), can also be rapidly fatal. They are slightly smaller, and are arboreal, whereas the latter is primarily terrestrial.
The black mamba is not named for the color of its body (which is usually a shade of grey), but for the highly pigmented interior of its mouth, which it gapes as a threat display. Many people believe that the Black Mamba will actually chase and attack humans. This is however an utter myth, as humans are their predators, rather than their prey. For that reason, mambas generally avoid contact with humans. However, if a mamba feels threatened by a human, it may defend itself fiercely. However it ows its reputation down to the film 'Kill Bill, and the most Vemonous snake is the Sea snake - its venom is generally more toxic and dangerous than venom from land snakes - However, sea snakes have a less efficient venom injection apparatus as compared to land snakes, vipers or cobras.

This is a difficult question to answer, a lot of different factors go into what makes a snake the world's deadliest, amount of venom injected, type of venom (nuerotoxic or hemotoxic), were u were bit at, all of these things go into it. I have been working with snakes for a couple of years and in my professional opinion a couple of snakes come to mind Of course the Black Mamba, but also the Inland Taipan, and Sea Snakes. These are just the three that come to mind right off, but in other countries anti-venom is not always in supply, so Russell's vipers kill alot of people. See some snakes that are potent to humans are calm and not prone to strike unless seriously provoked ( This is by no means saying that without proper training u should ever approach any snake). There is a really good documentary by Dr. Brady Barr from the National Geographic Channel that breaks some of this down even farther.

THe most venomous snake is a member of the Elapid complex of which the cobra is a member but it is not a cobra. The inland Taipan {Oxyuranus Scutulatus Microlepidota} is the most toxic species by LD50 {lethal dose 50} standardization of venom toxicity. While the snake that is responsible for the most fdatalities is the Russells Viper {Vipera Russelli}.

There are hundreds of known species of snakes in the world. It's also said there aren't any snakes in New Zealand and Greenland. Sea snakes are the most venemous among all land and sea species. But, when it comes to the land snakes, the African Black Mamba and the King Cobra are the most venemous. Owing to its enormous size, looks, cannibalism, etc the King Cobra is often thought to be the most venemous land snake, but there has always been a debate as to which one between these two is the most venemous. Maybe only the one who has survived bites from each can give a correct answer.

There are about 3000 species of snakes in the world of which about 45 are poisonous. If you are concerned about meeting up with the most dangerous of all you should stay out of Australia where The inland taipan (or Fierce snake) and the Australian Brown top the list of the most dangerous. You'll get answers (and good ones) that specify the black Mamba and others that are all very dangerous indeed but the consesus among those who know put the taipan and brown at the top of the list.

Many higher taxa exhibit latitudinal gradients in species richness, geographic range size, and body size. However, these variables are often interdependent, such that examinations of univariate or bivariate patterns alone may be misleading. Therefore, I examined latitudinal gradients in, and relationships between, species richness, geographic range size, and body size among 144 species of New World venomous snakes [families Elapidae (coral snakes) and Viperidae (pitvipers)]. Both lineages are monophyletic, collectively span 99° of latitude, and are extremely variable in body size and geographic range sizes. Coral snakes exhibit highest species richness near the equator, while pitviper species richness peaks in Central America. Species – range size distributions were strongly right-skewed for both families. There was little support for Bergmann's rule or Rapoport's rule for snakes of either family, as neither body size nor range size increased significantly with latitude. However, range area and median range latitude were positively correlated above 15° N, indicating a possible "Rapoport effect" at high northern latitudes. Geographic range size was positively associated with body size. Available continental area strongly influenced range size. Comparative (phylogenetically-based) analyses revealed that shared history is a poor predictor of range size variation within clades. Among vipers, trends in geographic range sizes may have been structured more by historical biogeography than by macroecological biotic factors. Common death adder
