Write down all your regrets and then try to turn them into positive things.
Remember your mistakes and don't repeat it again.
At the end, you just have to be happy and move on with your life because it is not worth it if you keep living with all your regrets.

Hi

I know just how you are feeling, I used to feel the same way.

It never occurred to me that this was a result of the way I was choosing to look at my life.

It actually never even occurred to me that there was any other way to look at it. I was raised in a very judgmental thought frame and self-judgment was a major component.

This went on for nearly 50 years with daily nonsense of me berating myself for being such a terrible person.

Someone suggested that I read a book called the course in miracles. I thought this was a stupid idea and I told them so. A while later this course in miracles was brought up again.

Still I resisted. I was in a bookstore and there on the shelf in front of me was, you guessed it the course in miracles. I took it off the shelf and looked through it and was immediately turned of by the references to Christian ideas. I was raised catholic and saw Christianity as little more than a way of controlling people.

By this time the agony of my self-loathing was becoming too much to bear. Again someone suggested that I read this course in miracles. They told me that it used Christian terminology but only because most people could understand it. Not in any attempt to control you or to get you to believe in any certian way.

I finally decided that this must be something that I was supposed to do mostly because it kept popping up in my life.

The rest is history. This book teaches you how to disassemble your old judgmental thought system and replace it with a more productive view of not only your self but also the world you live in. Best of all it works.

If you would have told me 7 years ago that I would get up each morning loving myself and the rest of the world, I would have thought you were a fool to say such a thing.

But I do exactly that, and you can to.

Try it and see. If I can be of any help just email.

Love and blessings Don

You need to do penance to atone for your crimes. No, I'm not being cruel. The best way to rid yourself of those demons is to immerse yourself in others. There is an adult home near you; sometimes called a "nursing home" or "rest home". The residents there are often lonely and sad, and an occasional visit, especially from younger folks, can be as fine wine to them. Go to the facility and ask about volunteer opportunities.

There will be a Veteran's home nearby. The same thing applies; many of these genuine heroes have outlived their family, and are confined with only their fellow veterans, many of whom are unable to communicate, respond and share with the others. You would be doing them, your nation, and yourself great honor if you would but visit an hour a week. Ask the staff there how you can do that.

There is an animal shelter near you. Those poor abandoned creatures need friendly hands to walk them, pet them, brush them. You will find caring for these most dependent of Creation's beings to be a soul-satisfying endeavor. Contact the director of the shelter to find out how you can help. Even merely walking a dog or cleaning out the dog runs is an immense help that will be appreciated.

There are tiny infants that need warm caps in your local hospital. Learn to knit or crochet those and donate them periodically. Those nursing home and Veteran's home residents? They are forever in need of warm shawls, lap robes and slippers. Every inch of yarn you work into such an item is a two-fold blessing - one for the person who will receive the completed object and one for your soul. Your local homeless shelter is another place that should welcome donations of such a nature.

You do this, and you will find that in doing this "penance" you will have elevated your mood as well as your standing among your peers, and will have secured for yourself a place among the blessed. All it takes is to get over that first big hurdle, which is to make up your mind you're going to do it and getting started!

You can't change the past and dwelling on your mistakes isn't going to make you feel better.
You have to let it go and try not making the same mistakes again.
Now that you know what you will regret later you can modify your behavior to avoid regrets.
Everyone gets down on themselves sometimes. It helps you to examine your personality every so often and change things about yourself that you don't like.
Every day is a fresh start.
Do something nice for someone else and you'll start to see that you are a good person. It'll make you feel better.

Just try going to church, I felt the same way and now I feel better. I will always have my regrets but God has helped me a lot. I keep my religious beliefs to myself pretty much, not a holly roller. try it please. If not that, then talk to someone you trust. You were put on this earth for some reason, your birth was important for some reason. You just don't know what yet. My prayers and good wishes are with you.
