It depends on what room. I like it totally dark in my bedroom, but not with foil on the windows. Just heavy drapes. I like light in other rooms.

I like curtains, I've always had bad luck with blinds, and they're a pain to clean! But I keep them open most of the time anyway...I just love curtains :)

Grassy has colonial storm shutters as exterior motif, For the interior motif usually a sunscreen that block the sun from fading the furnitures vivid fabric colors, top valance with fabric and curtains. Wooden blinds are nice maybe in the basement. Grassy learned all this womanly stuff from a venerable old girlfriend whom advised him to buy his present house.

Blinds. The wife has curtains up, but they are for decoration.

We have to have blinds for the pervert that lives next door, but we have curtains as well, for the "beauty effect"!!

right now i only have curtains, we moved over the summer and eventually i would like to add blinds also.

But i depends on what kinda mood you want for a particular room. I would definitely prefer curtains for my bedroom.
