Seven...

50 minus the 5 who like neither = 45
45 minus 37 pizza heads = 8 who like only burgers
15 minus 8 burger heads = 7 who like both

You have a total of 52 students that like either burgers or pizza. You have 45 students (50 less the 5) that like something. Therefore, you must have 7 students (the difference of 52 and 45) that like both.

well, out of 50, 45 (ie 50-5) like one or both

since 37 like pizza and 15 like burgers we have 37 + 15 = 52 liking 1 or both

since only 45 can, 52-45 = 7 must like both

so, 30 only like pizza, 8 only like burgers, 7 like both and 5 neither
30+8+7+5 = 50

50 students.
37 like pizza.
15 like burgers.
5 do not like either.

Ok, so first you subtract the # of people that do not like either from the number of students in class: 50-5=45. So now you are left with 45 students. 37 of them like pizza. 15 of them like burgers. Add 37+15 to get 52. If 52 students like pizza and/or burgers, and there are 45 students in the class who like either, then subtract 45 from 52 to get the number of students in the class who like both: 52-45=7
So 7 students like both! Hope that helped!

if u know to draw venn diagram it will be easy...
u = 50 out of which 5 neither likes both..50-5 = 45
n(aUb) = n(a)+n(b)-n(a intersection b)
45 = 37+15-n(a intersection b)
52 - 45 = n(a intersection b)
n(a intersection b) = 7
