I worked in many Middle-East countries many, many years ago. If I consider ordinary people's way of life, I find Saudi Arabia as the most repressive. There is severe restrictions on everyone's freedom. Consider these examples: Women are not allowed to drive. Girls upon reaching the age of 12 had to cover their faces in public. Holding hands between man and woman in public is not allowed. Women's skirts had to cover from waist to toe. Women are not allowed to go out of the home alone by themselves. Alcohol is prohibited. Any form of gambling is prohibited. Western films are banned in moviehouses. Heavy censorship on radio and TV. Pubs or nightclubs are not allowed. Men had to be separated from women when praying in mosques. The parents are the ones selecting spouses for their sons or daughters. These are just some examples.

It makes me wonder why the U.S. is doing nothing when it comes to Saudi Arabia. If the U.S. is really fighting for freedom and democracy in the Middle-East, why is it keeping a blind eye on Saudi repressions??
