I once was at a job making over 6 figures. The stress of the horrible boss got to me and manifested itself in health problems.
I finally quit. While there have been times I really miss the money (now for instance), the happiness I gained by leaving is worth every dime.

Life is too short to work horrible jobs and most can only do it for so long before you hit total burnout. So, no, I would not take a job I knew I would dislike in exchange for great pay.

How many jobs are there that I would like? Probably close to zero, so if I have to take a shitty job no matter what, why not let it pay exceedingly well?

No, I wouldn't, and here's my reasoning behind it. First of all, I wouldn't take a job I didn't like because it wouldn't be fun or appealing, and to be successful, you at least have to like the job to a certain extent. I'd much rather work a job I liked and enjoyed for less pay than having a job I hated and got paid more for.

Actually, I decided the opposite.
I took a job that pays a lot less than I could make elsewhere but is very fulfilling.

It was definitely the right choice.

hell no i learned that money is not worth being miserable your entire life. why be at a place you dont want to for 8 hours everyday? go do something you love and not a job where you look at the clock waiting for it to be lunch time. if you hate your job you will come home tired and depressed and you wont enjoy the money you made because you will probably be sleeping or getting drunk because you are trying to cope for your depression. i dont know if its just me but i want to wake up and do something i love even if it doesnt pay great because if im having fun then i will exceed in it and it will one day make me all the money i will ever need.

hi..yes..I would but I would also be looking for opportunity for happiness. The important thing would be not to set your lifestyle on your big money job so that when you found your place, you #1 would not be dependent on the big money and #2 had a sweet little nest egg to start you out.

I would take it if there were more factors involved, like a family I needed to support. Others before myself I would say. If everything is going for you, then you can take it and TRY to like it, or you can look for another job you like with decent pay.

Yes I would... but I would only do it for as long as I feel confortable doing it. I would see it as a short term solution to accumulate some money.
