They may not have changed their name by deed poll at all, there is no legal requirement for you to do so. You can just change your name to what ever you like as long as it is not for fraud.

i change mine 28yrs ago by deed pole :: all it is, is a document signed in front of a solicitor and witnessed ::; nothing is changed automaticly ::: the person changing thier name changes all details about thierselfs (with the back up of the legal document)
so you should be able to find out bt backtracking
