i'm workng in advertising section as a sales and marketing executive arond 1 year now but i'm not doing good to be honest i dont like it much,, my GM want me to handl the office activities and this is agood oppurtunity for me so what would i do to give improve my sales sklis

It sounds to me like you are not selling the right products or services... If you don't like or believe in what you are selling, you have to move on. The only way to be successful selling anything is:

1. LOVE!!! What you do
2. BELIEVE!!! In your product or service
3. MAKE IT VALUABLE TO THE CUSTOMER!!! People buy, they aren't sold...
4. If you don't have #1 or #2, MOVE ON to something else.

Sales aren't meant for everyone. Being a good salesperson requires a certain "lust" for it that I find hard to achieve. However I have worked in several retail offices and done fine with sales. My strategy is not to push people, to let them make up their own minds... I will give you ideas, but as far as pushing, in my opinion pushes them away more often than not.

Sounds like you moving into the office might be a good change, but if you still don't like it, I'd be looking for a job now =). You can never start too early. If you just don't enjoy sales then you probably never will... you CAN be an ok salesperson however... you just have to work harder than the naturals =).

Do what makes you happy, find something you are going to be happy with and go after it!

If you try to get ideas and suggestion about improving/increasings your sales, from this group, Ithink that you will lose your Job, get real and do your Job. before your GM fire you.

depends on the type of sales you do. check out the book "spin selling". it mostly talks about asking a lot of question to find out what your clients need and building your proposal around them.
