Lets look at this realistically. Iran's "president" likes to hop around screaming about wiping Israel off the map. Does that sound like a nation interested in human rights to you? Iran hosted a holocaust denial seminar. Doesn't sound too awfully supportive of human rights.

Granted, we aren't perfect. We also are not a democracy. We are a republic. Every four years, come hell or high water, we get to boot out our leader or we can choose to keep him. If we don't re-elect him, though, he will not launch a coup and take control by force. Can we say that of Iran?

That being said-I do not think badly of the Iranian people. Their leadership is no more indicative of them as our leaders are of us.

America is right and Iran is wrong. The supreme leader in Iran is unelected by Iranians. Women in Iran are (for example) paid less than men in the workplace in the same jobs so they do not have equal human rights in Iran.
