Hi Sean,
I suggest you put it down none the less. I understand what you mean, but even if you don't put it down, they'll surely ask you. I don't think age is a base for discrimination, since it's in IT, in fact, they should pick you all the more considering your experience! So don't worry about it. GoodLuck at the interview.
Happy New Year!

It is not necessary for anyone to put their date of birth on their CV, but, from reading CVs it is pretty easy to work out how old someone is by their career and educational history. However, I'm sure the UK has employment equality laws, so if you feel you were not selected for a job interview based on age alone then you should be within your rights to ask to review the selection technique used to shortlist people , if you feel you were not selected based on age only then you do have rights to follow up.
And if asked your age tell them, why would you lie? Takes years to build up all that experience, why hide it!!!

in simple terms, no you dont put either on your CV, if a job has an age specified in the description, then you may need to tell them how old you to say that you meet the requirements.
Otherwise, only tell them if they ask, and if you think your being discriminated against because of your age, you can make a complaint against them through their company, or by legal action if you want to take it that far.

I'm in IT as well
and 45 soooooo
you can leave it off and then at least get to
see them and then it's about selling you anyway
if they ask specifically I would tell them though
I look at it if they are that way
I probably would not enjoy working there anyhow

Don't put your age on your CV, just let them see your qualifications, if they ask your age that will be discrimination.

You don't have to ask, you don't have to tell them, except if it specifically asks for it on an application form.
I never provided any of my medical history on application forms, because I know I would be discriminated because of it, (and I have been discriminated because of it).

No they are not allowed to ask.
But I have been an IT Manager and can assure you that any CV's that come through without it will go straight in the bin.

you dnt have to by law- but if they ask you have to tell them and if they dnt accept you but accept sum1 younger with qualification tht are not as gud as urs- then u ca claim age descrimination, however if their qualifications r better then there is no point in claiming.

You need to put it on there. You may not even get an interview if you don't include it.
