No no no a floppy disk will NOT fit into a CD tray, the physical size is totally different, shape and thickness, and even if if did, the pickup system is different; the floppy is read by a magnetic head and the CD is an optical laser. So don't even think about it. You'd have to come up with a way to plug in an external floppy drive and use it that way. Only problem is that floopy discs don't hold very much data compared to a CD, a mere fraction. You would be better off networking the computer and the laptop together and transferring the files that way.

Floppy disks and CDs are two VERY different storage mediums and are not compatible with eachother. Most newer computers do not have a floppy drive anymore in favor of the CD-Rom standard. If you absolutely need a floppy drive then go to best buy and ask a representative to lead you to an external floppy drive that plugs in via USB to your computer.
I believe a floppy will be large enough to transfer your music because you probably will only be dealing with MIDI files, which are smaller than most mp3 and way smaller than wave files.
Warning: Never stick anything that is not a CD or DVD into your CD or DVD Rom drive! It is not a coffee holder as some users have been found using as, it is not a piggy bank, and in your case it is not for floppy disks. Damage WILL result!

If you dont know the difference between a cd tray and a floppy drive youre in trouble! You put a floppy into a cd tray and your liable to wreck the drive! To begin with, dont waste time on tryin to put music on a floppy! It wont hold enough data! I would imagine that the Yamaha takes a special file format!

Hahaha yeah don't put the floppy disk in your CD tray. I also have a yamaha keyboard and it will work if your keyboard has enough memory to hold the song.

You can't copy any music files in Floppy disk at the first place. Floppy can store only 1.44MB and your single MP3 music file need about 3 to 6MB.

Use the USB port, it will be fasteer and allow more songs to be loaded to your keyboard. depending on the software your keyboard uses it should be really easy, could be as simple as plugging in the USB and opening "my computer" then copying the music into the drive that your keyboard has been assigned as.
