My boss invited me out to lunch ... this is against proto-call ... but its my boss ... what should I do ???

it is perfectly normal for boss inviting subordinate for lunch or dinner. Your boss is trying to break the ice with you or trying to build some rapport with you.

Think about it positively.

Every job I've ever had - I had lunch with the boss within the first 2 weeks. It's not a big deal, and I'm sure "protocall" is only being affected if it were a "date". I seriously doubt he is trying to hit on you, it is probably just his standard proceedure with new empolyees. I wouldn't get worked up about it unless he DOES hit on you... then call the Better Business Bureau. Until then, lighten up... go have lunch... I'm sure you'll hear plenty about the company. =)
