newtons third law says that every action has an equal and opposite reaction............when you walk you push the ground with your foot backwards....the friction force pushes you forward with the same force......if there was no friction then you will keep on moving your legs on the same spot without going anywhere.

Newtons law of something. "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction"
When your foot goes backwards, you go forwards. If there is no friction your foot will just slide and you won't have anything to push yourself forwards with and you'll probably just fall over. When the roads are icy try and walk over them (but be carefull!). Even ice has friction but thats about the closest to friction-less you can get. The ice has some friction and think how difficult it is to walk on, now imagine absoultely NO friction.

when u walk u basically pushes road in backward direction
u know that to every action there is equal and opposite reaction
therefore if u pushes the road backwards road exert a forward force to us i.e friction force
hence if surface is smooth i.e negligible friction person will slip off
hence friction is necessary
there is no place on earth where there is 0 friction
but nearer to zero almost zero exist

When we walk, we exert some force on the ground. Friction, gives an equal & opposite reaction to the force exerted. If there is no friction, there would be nothing to provide the necessary opposite reaction and hence, we would not be able to walk.

Friction is the force which allows us to walk. When we try to walk, we push the floor downward, and it gives us a normal reaction & friction force. Due to friction you move forward.

To explain in layman's term you need friction to stop you from slipping. Like if you were to walk on a pool of oil you will keep slipping due to absence of friction. Also read explanation given by others above on the action of force to cuase movement forward...

But while we are walking are we under equilibrium. If we are in equilibrium, then we can say frictional force is equal to forward moving force. But while walking we are not in equilibrium. So how can we say we walk due to friction. This is confusing. Anybody help.

action and reaction are couples
so without one other may not be effective.hence the force you give to walk must be opposed by an equal amount af frictional force then only you could walk .hence without friction force would not be effectively opposed hence you would slip off

Because you need a force in the horizontal direction and without friction you don't have that force.

Because as you shift your weight forward and your feet don't slip due to friction, you move forward. Without friction your feet would slip behind you and you would fall flat on your face.
