The sound is thicker, heavier, and faster than 1970s-style punk rock. It is characterized by short, loud, and passionate songs.

Music that pushes the boundaries like devil music.
But rap songs with heavy lyrics or hard energy dance music is said to be hardcore too.
Depends on peoples opinions I guess.
