you're just 9 weeks away from your delivery...

you should try drinking a glass of milk before going to bed... as milk contains serotonin that will help you relax.. try to make your bedroom as comfy as possible... you know, lights out, and silent.. this is to "condition" your brain to sleep...

i think you should consider doing light exercises such as walking... don't do strenuous exercise.. just light exercises... maybe in the morning.. try to walk and relax and take deep breaths.. walking in the sun (maybe before 10:00am) helps in the synthesis of vitamin D and will also be beneificial for your baby as vitamin D prevents hemolytic anemia...

Are you drinking anything with caffeine in it? If you are stop. Also, try to get into a routine. Go to bed the same time everyday and if you tend to nap try that at the same time also. You could just be getting your extra energy from being pregnant and out of your first trimester. Your body will let you know when it it is tired and needs to sleep. Are you cleaning everyting in sight? Maybe you are nesting as well. You can also call your OB and find out if there is anything you can take that is safe for you and the baby so you can rest.

Good luck and congratualtions on your pregnancy.

May you have a easy labor and get the rest you need before then.

I went through the same thing around this time when I was pregnant- I only averaged about 3 to 4 hours a night of sleep. Then I would nap for about an hour or two in the afternoon. Another thing I went through was that everything itched me- my comforters and just about anything- I washed everything all the time and I could not sleep without a sheet between myself and my comforter was as before I could sleep without it. All the advice everyone has given thus far seems good. I can't give any because I couldn't find anything that worked for me, lol.

Hope you have a healthy baby boy or girl :)

I'm 31 weeks too so i know the feeling. I've tried avoiding fluids 2 hours before I go to bed. I bought sleepytime lotion form Bath and body and I turn the heat up in our room. I also lock my door so if my husband isn't in bed by a certain time he doesn't get in, so I won't wake up. It's worked for me so far. BUt the again some days I wake up at 3 and can't go back to bed.

Try this...
Have some background noise; bathroom exhaust fan, nature sounds, nothing distracting just something to block out other sounds.
lay on your back or if it is more comfortable , lay on your side with your knees bent and a pillow between your legs.
Close your eyes.
Feel yourself sinking into the bed.
Breath in through your nose and slowly, gently exhale through your mouth.
Feel yourself sink deeper into the bed.
Picture a blank movie screen, nothing but white...
Breathe ....
Sink further into the bed....
Breath....
Your asleep....
Sweet dreams... good night.
