What is the national average SAT score?

I've tried numerous times to find it online, but have failed.

about 1500. whoever said around 1000 may be referencing hte old version out of 1600. so basically, out of every 800, 500 is average.

This would be from 2004, so it'll have to do:

"The average SAT score in the District of Columbia is still only 814, 112 points below the national average. "

By doing the math, the national average would be 926.
