If it runs it must be a fuel problem.Check or replace all fuel filters as well as fuel pressure.

Sounds like a diesel
I agree with Gary
May be down to fuel pressure check around fuel filters and injecter connections for badly seated components.
If this falls try running without the fuel cap fitted

try red ex in with the petrol
