Well, it depends on what you mean by a hero! People say that Adolf Hitler was a great man who turned Germany from a run down and out of power country into a great superpower and was one of the greatest things that ever happened for Germany that was until he became power crazed and killed millions of people! He unified Germany and made allies but then lost all by wanting more! Saddam, couldnt be called a hero in the same sense but to many people, they will came him a hero for the things he did for Iraq! I am not a supporter in fact I am english spansish and my grandfather fought in the war! It depends on what you mean by a hero but I beleive that Saddam is not a hero and especially not in the way Hitler was before he went crazy!

you are kidding, right?
Saddam was a scum sucking nematoid. and a crazy person as
well. the best thing that was done for this world was to put him to death for all the wrongful deaths that he ordered. so many families were devastated by this cruel man. and now, maybe there will be some kind of closure for the poor people that lost their loved ones unnecessarily. he was on a total power trip and did not care about who he hurt and their poor innocent families that were left with nothing but nightmares about the loved ones who were executed on a whim of Saddams bb brain.

No, I think that he was an animal. I do think that this is a good question because I have heard from several people that they feel sorry for him because of the way that he was taunted before his execution. It's almost like they feel that the videos have humanized him. I know that as people we feel remorse whenever any human looses their life, but don't forget all of the in humane things that this animal did to others. He didn't express any remorse before his execution. He's definetly not a hero!!

My answer is a question: were these people heroes? Moses, Joshua, Deborah, Gideon, David? Murders they committed or caused were of the same or very similar sort as Saddam, and much more numerous as iterated in the Holy Bible (and in the same geographical areas).
