no because the mother could take medication that will ensure her baby is born HIV negative. so there's not reason to murder the baby.

Not in this instance because now a days (if weren't aware) just because two parents may have HIV doesn't mean the child will. As long as both parents are aware Doctors will just preform a Cesarion section, and the give the babies the proper medicine. That alone will eliminate HIV for the child. The only way this does not work is if the parents were not aware.

Yes, if that is what they choose to do. I agree that bringing an unwanted child into the world is not better than an terminating a pregnancy. People have many reasons to decide to end a pregnancy and that difficult decision should be theirs to make. I do NOT believe in using abortion as a form of birth control however.

Of course not! There are steps that can be taken to help ensure the baby will be HIV negative, but if she was not, it still would be wrong to kill her. Her HIV status wouldn't be her fault. Why should she be sentenced to death for it? Should we also kill born people who have HIV? I can't believe the blatant discrimination and lack of compassion here. Take a look at what abortion does to children in the first trimester:

Depends on the situation. An HIV positive person can have a HIV negative baby but I'm not sure if it applies to all baby's. The mothers blood never transmits to the fetus from what I understand...

Correct. Sex is for OUR pleasure. All females should be on some form of contraception. Abortion IS legal. So just enjoy !

Nope! You know what you are doing and if not protected from pregnancy then a baby should be born. One can still "enjoy" their own nature and be responsible adults.

well......... i'm of the view that such a baby shud be aborted 'coz thr r 98% chances of the baby getting HIV infection from the mother during pregnancy or at the time of birth, when the cord is clamped and baby is detached from the placenta.. and if the blood is exchanged b/w the baby 'n an HIV positive mother during that cord clamping procedure, a baby wud not be able to lead a good life and it wud cause emotional trauma to the parents, seeing thr child die in front of them............ it's such a painful time for the parents and for that little "baby" too.....

so to abort a baby wud be the best option, rather seeing a "cute" baby die in front of u.

in making such decisions..... one shudn't use thr "heart", rather they shud use thr mind with a "practical logic"...............

NYWAYS, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

HAVE A GR8 YEAR AHEAD FULL OF SUCCESS N HAPPINESS :).

CHEERS!!!!!!!

Not just humans, many types of animals have sex just for recreation, not just procreation. If we weren't meant to have sex for fun, nature wouldn't have made us to find it enjoyable.

Regardless, what some people never want to grasp is that consenting to sex is not consenting to pregnancy. Contraceptives fail, surprises happen. Birth defects, rape, health concerns, financial hardships, furthering education .. for whatever reason, bringing an unwanted child into the world is not preferable to terminating a pregnancy.

I always think of that one particular line during this issue ...
"If you can't trust me with a choice, how can you trust me with a child?"

Edit: Please, please, please for the love of all things good, don't show your ignorance by using the word murder in regards to this issue. Murder is the illegal taking of life. Abortion is the LEGAL termination of a pregnancy. They are far removed. Throwing the murder card around only makes you sound ignorant and bitter.
