It depends on your definition of a casino.

Question 5 was put forth to the state's voters, and they approved it during the election last week. It states that smoking must be banned where there are slot machines in convenience stores, supermarkets, gas stations and bars that serve food. Most of those places already have smoking bans in place, but the areas where you find the slots and video poker have been exempt, so people could puff away while they were gambling before gassing up the car or getting groceries.

Now, if you want to drop a few nickels into the slot machine while getting your Big Gulp, you'll have to do it without a cigarette in your mouth.

However, bars that do not serve food and major casinos are exempt from the new law. So, if you were thinking you'd be able to spend a few hours at your favorite Strip casino and not walk out smelling like smoke, you're going to be disappointed.

The ballot measure was fiercely opposed by the folks who run the establishments affected, with them worrying that gamblers would go to the big casinos where they can indulge in their vices unencumbered, but voters apparently want to be able to have their hot wings, a beer and some deuces wild without having to inhale someone's secondhand smoke.

Major casino operators pretty much stayed out of this fight, but some are reportedly privately worried that this could be paving the way for attempts at a larger ban on smoking in their gambling halls. It's not that they are worried that such a ban would ever actually get passed -- it won't, or at least not in our lifetimes -- but having to fight such a ban could set them up for some bad public relations. so they are hoping to avoid that.

Children are not allowed in bars casinos or strip clubs. Plus anything goes in Vegas and by banning smoking would defeat this

Yes you can, though legislation is afoot to restrict it.

However the Open Poker rooms, those where players play games like Texas Hold 'Em poker are mostly non-smoking.
