JUST WAIT TILL YOUR NEXT PERIOD AND SWITCH TO YASMIN. THE PILL DOES NOT ALLOW THE OVARIES TO DEVELOP THE EGGS DURING THE PERIOD IN BETWEEN MENSTRUATION. IT CONTAINS HORMONES THAT PREVENT THE EGG TO DEVELOP. SO AT THE END OF THE MONTH, THE MENSTRUATION YOU GET DOES NOT HAVE A DEVELOPED EGG IN IT- ONLY THE UTERUS TISSUE THAT GROWS AND PREPARES FOR THE IMPLANTATION OF THE EMBRIO. IF YOU MISS ONE PILL, IT'S NOT FATAL OR ANYTHING, BUT THE EGG CAN START ITS NORMAL GROWTH IN THE OVARIES AND IF U HAVE SEX AROUND THEN, YOU CAN GET PREGNANT, BUT THE CHANCES ARE REALLY SMALL.

the pill doesn't stop the cycle if your pregnant... there fore you don't have to wait till so long after sex,but the pill messes with your bodies normal chemistry and quiting suddenly could send your body into some type of shock. if your getting headaches you should really see a doc cause there are multiple types and doses. you might just need to figure out whats best for you with your doctor. not just by some dumb commercial that just tells you everything you want to hear. i always love the way they slip in the adverse side affects at the end of those commercials. diarrhea medication that causes a hemorrhaging sphincter FTW!!!

Basically the way to think about oral birth control is that it tricks the body into believing that it's already pregnant. Birth control pills contain levels of the female hormones progesterone and estrogen that approximate levels during pregnancy. Progesterone is a hormone that is released by the placenta during development of a fetus, and it suppresses the development of egg follicles as well as their release (ovulation). Estrogen is the primary hormone produced by the ovary. Taking extra estrogen basically decreases the amount of sex hormones produced by the body, suppressing the activity of the ovary and further decreasing the development of an egg.

consult your doctor about switching... if it is causing you problems you should book an appointment asap as they will recommend which one it is preferable to switch to.

I am on a different pill to yours and am told it works in three ways...
1.. prevents the egg being released.
2.. tightens the opening to the cervix so sperm finds it harder to get through.
3.. Reduces the lining of blood in the womb so that any fertilised egg that may get through has trouble implanting.

hope everything works out :)
