You probably encountered a species us real goths like to call "Mallgoth"
Most real goths (with the exception of the occasional Death Rocker and Rivet-Head) are pretty tame..
Probably got beat up by some baby-bat Manson worshippers

They are teaching you the real meaning of life:
No matter how happy you are now, you're going to die.
Probably soon.
It will probably be miserable.
Of course, I suspect the authenticity of the question, since it is unlike actual Goths to bestir themselves for much besides coffee, lyric art, and suicide. And to violence? Violence is so pointless, when life has a habit of resolving itself. Why do violence when you have inevitability?
Either you're making this up or your Goths are defective.

I don't know. Most real goths are pacifistic and not often violent. You probably got pounced by some Slipknot-listening mall rats instead.

1. NEVER let anyone control you, do not be frightened by anyone i'm not and i feel great about myself because i will stand up for myself, if you are being beaten up it probably means you are not respected by them, FIGHT BACK! and you will earn their respect
2. Goths scare me, anyone who goes round dressed in black and slitting their wrists is just plain weird! You are alot luckier than them, and remember the only person you should want to be in the world is YOU

i could answer this question but need more details-- has it happened several time? or just once--- could be that they want more attention from others so they beat u and or others up to get that attention~~

Because Goths (as well as Emos) have serious mental health issues. I'd advise anyone to stay away from them.
