I am 24 weeks pregnant and have just started to get quite bad backache, mostly between my shoulder blades. I'm not sure if it's being caused by my pregnancy or just a coincidence, but I don't normally get a bad back.
Any tips on how to improve it?
Also - would a massage help? and how do pregnancy massages work because presumably you can't lie on your stomach like you normally do when you have a massage.
Thanks!

My sister had some major backaches with both her pregnancies; her doctor recommended a "belly bra" that helped shift the weight of her stomach so that it didn't put so much strain on her lower back.

Yeah backache i have that now and it is a pain cos i feel like a cripple. the key is not to lounge around in uncomfortable positions as your back will settle like this. I find that sitting on a hard chair rather than a sofa helps as i get too relaxed on a soft chair.
In bed you should never sleep on your back from 24 weeks so really the only option is on either side. I usually put a pillow under the bump and a pillow in between the knees for support and to keep the back straight.

Get your partner to massage your shoulders but not with oils as these can be deemed unsafe for use during pregnancy. use a baby oil or just a rich body cream, as this can loosen the pain

or even a nice warm, but not hot bath, can temporarily help

back ake are a common part of pregnancy, you can have massages but make sure its done by some one who knows what they are doing as there are pressure points on the body that can start labor, they do it by laying you on side and then they change side,
good luck and hope it all helps

i began out having discomfort in my decrease back in my first trimester, and it saved getting worse over the years. as quickly as I instructed my well being care expert approximately it, she referred me to a chiropractor who focuses on pregnant women.
