There is so much gun violence BECAUSE it is so easy to obtain a gun. I can understand peoples right to bear arms, and have no issue with that, but lets be practical and admit that no one needs automatic weapons. Also, I am a liberal who DOES support the death penalty. There are those who there is no redemption for, why should we keep them in prison with our tax dollars?

Anyone who is not a criminal can obtain a gun. How can any rational person have a problem with that?

The gun violence is mostly due to the sale of illegal drugs. Take out the gang violence, and our crime rate and prison population is practically non-existent.

It's strange to be criticised by someone who comes from a country founded as a penal colony.

You must be paying too much attention to the propagandists. More Americans are killed in car crashes each year than through gun violence but the liberal media fails to cover the facts rather than promoting their political agenda. It should be easy to obtain a gun in the United States. It's my constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

The only people who are promoting any sort of prohibition on guns are Nazi's. In the early 1930's Hitler/Nazi Germany passed legislation prohibiting the private ownership of firearms. Adolf said "our streets will be safer and our police more efficient."

Turns out this was true. The streets were safer for the Nazi's who rose to power and the Gestapo was very efficient. What's funny about this is that most of the financiers/leaders in anti-gun crowd in America are Jews. Go figure!

There is less gun violence than in some places where it is totally illegal to own a gun. In reality, in a country the size of the US, there is a lot lower percentage of gun violence than you would think. Remember, there are 300,000,000 Americans, and there are roughly 11,000 deaths by gunfire per year..this includes suicide, police shootings, and accidents. It is easy to get a gun in the US because the Constitution grants us the right to own firearms.

Because the lib's have made it harder for good law abiding citizen's to get guns but have done nothing to stop the criminals! It's really easy for the criminal's to get gun's they steal them or buy them from another criminal. But your good law abiding citizen goes into a gun store and goes thou a back ground check where the state decides if they want to let them get a gun or not then you have to want 3 days (in Florida) to pick your gun up. Believe me it's anything but easy to get a legal gun. Maybe if ever good citizen owned a gun then gun crime would go down.

The vast majority of "gun violence" involves drugs -- usually one dealer shooting another dealer over territory, or over a drug deal gone bad.

It's actually not that easy to obtain a gun in many places, at least not legally. That's what gun control does -- it makes it easy for criminals to get guns, while law-abiding citizens who want to defend themselves are s--- out of luck.

Because the laws anymore seem to lean toward protecting the rights of the criminals more than the rights of the citizens. Criminals will ALWAYS be able to obtain a gun.

Guns are easy to obtain illegally, so passing laws restricting lawful gun ownership doesn't help, but it is unconstitutional.

Making it a priority to crack down on illegal guns would help, but liberal leaders tie the hands of officers. How could liberals pass more gun laws if they weren't able to scare people?

all you need to have is a background check and no criminal record and sometimes wait 14 days and you got yourselve a gun, or people go out steal a bunch of guns and start selling them on the streets.
