Time Travel has been the ultimate dream for scientists. However this is not possible, because imagine if such a machine existed and you decided to go back in time by a mere 15 minutes. You would see yourself as you were 15 minutes ago. Hence there would be 2 of you at the same time. Then what if both of you got inside the Time Machine & went back another 30 minutes, then there would be 3 of you & so on. Who would be who - No one would know.

Yes travelling through time is absolutely possible according to Einstein s Geniune theory of relativity he mentioned that time is not the same for every person differs from person to person it means that the time for you is not equal to the time for me should the same is been explained in the tunnel paradox it upon the gravity which is been should the same is been explained in the tunnel paradox it is upon the gravity which is drafting you and the light on you your marks get time respective with your body all matters these are the things which would make you to travel through time

time travel is commonly thought to be possible because most college professors do not understand the subject, they teach it because they are payed to do so and it is a popular subject. movies about time travel are very popular. many speek about space-time and discribe it as a rubber sheet with some high spots and low spots but this is an over simplified explanation that fails to explain the subject at all.

the speed of light can be exceeded the speed of time can not because the universe was created rather than formed by a big bang. let the slurs of wildratsci commence :)

No. The physics trilogy describes the reason. The trilogy is: E = mc2, m = E/c2, and c2 = E/m. Notice that the "c2" value in all of these equations is the only one that is not capable of change. Energy and mass may transmute one to the other, but the value of "c2" remains the same. This value is the basis of both mass and energy. It is what all things in our universe is composed of. This is the value of physical time, and it describes a few major features of our existence. We cannot escape the existence of this value, because it is what we are composed of. This means that our existence (present time) flows from the very present into becoming the past at the speed of light. It also describes that it is impossible for us to interact with either the past or future. Neither of them physically exist - only the present (that of c2) exists. All the past exists in present time. It has been formed into something else, or else it is being formed into something else. The future is to be made up only of the present - it just hasn't been put together yet.

Forwards, no problem. You are doing it right now. And moving relative to someone changes the rate you move through time relative to them.

Backwards, sorry no. Contrary to what some say here, it violates several fundamental laws of science and so is not even theoretically possible. It directly violates the second law of thermodynamics, which is probably the most serious problem.

I'm travelling through time at the rate of 1 hour per hour

Yes, but only into the future for now. When someone invents time machine we will be able to travel into the future and back to the moment of the invention of time machine.

No. But why would you have to ask this. If we could wouldn't you think time travel to be very popular and therefore televised for the whole world to see.

According to "Science et Vie", the universe is not flat but rather like a blanket folded on many layers which makes it possible IN THEORY to travel through time.
Though I personally can't imagine how it would be like but then again none was able to imagine what it is like to living in a sphere ;)

no you can not travel back in time
yet, in theory you can move to the future if you were able to travel in a speed close to light according to einstein, because travelling at high speed causes time dilation so you will grow slower than everybody else.
however reaching this speed is impossible and you will become pieces in milliseconds.
