I think it means exactly what it says -except that is that 'poodles' is not the dog kind. He signals brown! There are a couple of confusing points: is he the giver or the reciever? Why doesn't he stay is one place so someone who likes that type of thing can find him? Sounds like a hairdresser doing the coastal holiday thing.
Ps If it's always written in brown crayon you know he is really anal.
