It depends entirely on what the charges are, whether you are traceable, whether or not you have previous convictions etc.

There is no way of telling how long it will take - there are cases where murder charges were pressed against a known person in the seventies and the person wasn't actually arrested on those charges until a couple of years ago.

Generally, if someone presses charges against you for, say, assault, then you'll hear from the police relatively quickly - within a week.

as soon as get it in there computer. a warrant will be issued 4 ur arrest. That doesn't mean they will come lookin for u. That mean if they see u u will most likely b arrested. They still come 2 ur house but they will if its seriouse charge they will come lookin for u. so tell the person to lay low. find out the charge if u can pay a bonds man call one first b for u turn that person. After that turn ur self in make sure the bonds man is there. U most likely be in there for a short time. The police don' t like 2 come lookin 4 u. They work with u and help if work with them. Make sure 2 call and find out who ur going 2 turn ur self in 2. some of them r d*cks so good luck
