Yes it can take a long time to scan you have to many files to scan. delete any file you really do need and most virus scans cant kill some virus. You could call the geek squad if you are in NY they will remove it. If not you will have to send your computer out and have it removed. If you get Verizon DSL it has scans free in their package and pop up blockers and fire wall all for 34.99 a month.

I suggest that you try to carryout system restore to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html
The problem is likely to be solved. Then,You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at
http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html

slow while running antivirus, there something wrong with your computer. if you scanning your computer don't run any application, insteadrun antivirus alone. now try to check your memory ram, maybe its quite low memory that's why your computer is running so sloooooooooooowwwwwwww.
here try to use AVG antivirus, its better than PC-Cillin you use.
