why when i drag music files from my itunes to my mp3 player (play.com lite) some files appear as mp3 and mp4?

my mp3 player will only play the music files that appear mp3. is there any way of converting the files that appear mp4 to mp3? why do they appear mp4?

NO. iTunes became designed via Apple for the iPod. No different MP3 participant is designed or allowed to artwork on iTunes except it somewhat is an iPod Apple would not "suck" they only have legal administration over the layout of their utility and hardware. try getting NON Xbox video games to play LEGALLY on the Xbox - I doubt it. Blame Microsoft.
