I think people are prone to being lazy. This leads them to let major typo errors occur without caring and not submitting enough info with the question so it can be adequately answered. A lot of questions can be googled or searched via a search engine. I guess people just want, what they think, is a knowledgeable group of people answering their questions. Its kind of like calling tech support. I guess some people don't think that a solution can be easily reached via a search engine or they want a real person response to get a warm and fuzzy feeling to comfort them.

Previously, I used to use google search, but I find it very much time consuming to find your answers - most of the time, google is good for content search, literary works, but what about finding something handy, right from the shelves( from the internet) ; Also if you go through different opinions you will notice that how much people can differ with any trivial matter.- that's the interesting part.

Let's look 'yahoo answer' - like a discussion forum -a web talk show where you're just giving your opinion or information and also getting to hear other people's story.
It's kinda two way traffic - It's rather more alive than google search.

Familiarity and inertia I guess. When people get comfortable with something, they tend to want to continue to do things the same way, until something happens and they realise that they have to do things in a different way going forward. Human nature I suppose. Many human beings also fear change - they worry about what the road ahead is if things are being changed. In the internet world as well as in many other areas, old habits die hard. But more importantly, I do believe that Google is great is searching out relevant answers (at least if you are willing to plough through the information sites to obtain the answer to your question), but it's done through non-human robots which at times may lack the instantaneous and direct reply from a human being who knows the answer, or may not be able to provide the same value-add that a physical person may in terms of compiling all the information and ideas and summarising them to answer the question DIRECTLY.

Did you use Google before you asked that question?

:)

I almost posted that question myself, but maybe a lot of people just don't know that Google can help them, I mean look at all the people using Yahoo Answers! We wouldn't be here if Google filled everyone's needs.

Besides, how much more stuff have you learned looking up the things people are asking about?

There's research on social networking that may enlighten you a little. See I learned something answering YOUR question :)

Personally I do not like googles layout and don't use it. But I do agree with you there are search engines out there that could answer 99% of questions asked on here. I put it down to people testing other people or just being plain lazy.

On here you get different opinions of people. On google you have to search through advertisements and irrelivent stuff to find what your looking for. Also on Yahoo answers its much quicker because google gets searches in seconds but the search found isnt always what your looking for.

I agree with you on this. Or they are just straight out retarded on how to use a computer or search engines. Or how to Spell Google. Since Schools don't teach handwriting-Spelling anymore.
