I have been selected in the latest readers digest draw, should i send back my numbers in the no reply envelope meaning i do not have to subscribe to the magazine or throw the lot in the bin.

You and three million others. I received my final selection process letter this morning even though I've ignored the earlier ones. I let my 5 year old play with all the envelopes, and then as puffy suggests, it'll hit the recycling bin.

The chances of winning must be pretty low, considering the number of people who receive these letters. They are always phrased to make you think you have almost won. I undestand though that the same draw often promotes several products. Also the prize money and the cost of all these mailings must come from somewhere - which must be on the price of the books!

It is a legal obligation for RD to enter you in the draw regardless of whether you subscribe (I know because an ex-girlfriend of mine worked as an ombudsman/regulator checking that companies ran these prize draws fairly!) But you must remember that it is just a draw, and the odds against you winning are pretty astronomical!

It is a ploy to get you to subscribe. Even if you don't, they know you live there and will send you more. I happen to like the magazine. Nice stories, but if you are just trying to win the drawing, I would just trash it. Your odds are just as good.

If you like and read Readers Digest, use it., If you did not ask for that to be sent to you, recycle the paper and sue them to give you your privacy back.

Who wasn't selected?
Do you have anything to lose other than postage by sending in the numbers?
Finally, can you win if you don't try!
Go for it! Good luck!
