There is a line between being able to speak up and knowing when to stop. Especially with the holier-than-thou snobby attitude he exhibits. Perhaps I could agree with you if he were more brief in his comments isntead of rambling on and on about how much someone sucks when he knows that he wouldn't have the balls to go up there on stage and face a critic as tough as he is. There is a difference between constructive criticism and tearing people down, and he doesn't seem to know what that difference is, and that is why I and others do not like him.

Yeah, that's only if you're dumb, doltish and asinine enough to judge an entire coutry based on a single person.

(I could say the exact same thing using Jessica tuna-is-chicken Simpson and half the Miss USA contestants as examples, but i choose not to)

Anyway, as mentioned above, American Idol prolly wouldn't be half as good as it is today, without the witty British guy.

He gives British people a bad name?

I think the guy is funny. And if people on shows as American Idol can't handle his comments, they have nothing to do in a public spotlight, cause there will be worse comments. There will always be somebody who doesn't like you and will say crap.

It's more amusing that people put a whole nation under how one guy acts. It would be like me assuming all Americans are stupid because of people like Paris Hilton.

Look at it this way. He shows that Brits aren't afraid to speak up. Paula and Randy will tell the worst singer in the history of the world that they have potential and Simon tells the truth, that they suck.

No. Most people aren't so narrow-minded to think that just because he's British, all Brits are like that.

If you're stupid enough to think that one man's attitude and opinion is enough to judge a whloe nation, then that's up to you, but I think you'll find that you're in a bit of a minority.
