Definitly. In a free country a patient should be able to use whatever medicine their doctor thinks will work for them, and should have the option to choose natural over lab created. So many drugs have such horrible side effects, and medical marijuana has very few, and they are very mild. It also was shown in a recently released UCLA study and in other studies abroad to kill cancerous cells while leaving healthy cells intact! Not only should it be legal, but it should be available for preventative measures.

My father comes from a family of 4 children. At a young age they all started smoking tobacco and marijuana. Now they are in their mid-30's to late 40's and two have quit smoking marijuana and two are still smoking marijuana. The two that quit smoking marijuana now have cancer, the two that still smoke marijuana are healthy. Coincidence? I do not think so. I support the legalization of marijuana not only for medical purposes but in every day life (and no I do not smoke it).

There is a form of marijuana used in cancer patients already. It is a drug called Marinol. It is a very tiny capsule which contains THC the part of marijuana that gets you high. Marinol is used quite frequently and is very helpful to many patients. One of the answerer's said something about smoking and the problems that come from that. If a person is terminally ill, smoking is no longer an issue. That person will die from his or her terminal illness long before smoking can kill them.

First, read the history of why marijuana was outlawed in the first place. It is quite entertaining. See http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/Library/mj_outlawed.htm and http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/History/whiteb1.htm

Every major study of the drug laws in history has said that the marijuana prohibition laws were based on racism, ignorance, and nonsense. They all said the laws should have been repealed long ago because they do more harm than good. You can read these studies for yourself at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/Library/studies/studies.htm

You can safely bet that anyone who thinks marijuana should be illegal has never read the history of the subject, or any of the most basic research.

Absolutely. I have had chronic pain for 14 years now and I know it can help so much with that. I only use legal, pescription drugs and they have many side effects, unlike marijuana.

ANSOLUTELY!

A friend of mine has chronic arthritis, and is in a terrible amount of pain, and he uses medical marijuana, and he is able to continue each day and go about his life.

Without medical marijuana; I am sure he would have killed himself a few years ago.

All drugs should be legal. However, we need adequate testing to make sure these people are not driving while intixicated. There is not currently a field test for driving while high.
