I have been married for over fifteen years to the same women, helping her raise a five year old son, who was about 18 years old at the time he made me hit him.
Frist let me tell you, the entire time we have been together she have been over protective with her son, I have tryed to talk to hime and tell him things to do, but insted of standing with me an making sure that he follow the rules, I feel like she would talk aginst me an just let him have his was. I have talk to her telling her what would happen if she continue with what she was do with the boy. Now it has happen, I sk the kid too come help me cut the grass befor it became too hot, he refused an wanted to do at his own time, but that was not a part of the plan. At this time I insisted that came to help me, again he refused an made a few more smart remark, Well being from the old school without thinking I pulled my belt off an started to chestys him. He tryed to fight me with his fist, I Hit the boy in the mouth.

The 18 year old can press charges against you. You were wrong. How can another person MAKE you hit them? You lost control buddy.

you are beyond wrong. That in no way justifies what you did. You are frustrated with the way your wife chose to raise him, that's fine but that's your issue, not his and not right to take it out on him. So he didn't mow the d@mn lawn, in the grand scheme of things, that doesn't give you a reason to hit him.

You were wrong. Just because your wife hasn't stood by you all these years does not make it her fault that you hit him. You are responsible for your actions.
