I answered a question for someone tonight regarding an ATI video card having a similar problem after just upgrading recently. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Av2Dgn2TYGydAokXQJBKblTsy6IX?qid=20070102000616AAinrkp&show=7#profile-info-86c77b62a875be516c600e493dc2b59aaa I'm beginning to think that this is more of a software/driver issue now than previously thought. Try uninstalling catylist or any ATI extras and just install the graphics driver only. Also, if not already done, free up the PCI slot adjacent to your video card by moving stuff down away from it.

Ok that video card is crap it has a ATI radeon 9200 series GPU on it... Anyways you need to start to check your Memory timing in BIOS and make sure they are not too aggressive for the Memory you have like use the higher numbers in CLS to LAS settings or use SPD and it will use the fastest setting that the Memory chips are programmed with. Also a Junk power supply will do this too. I have seen two Antec power supplys the model SL350 is known to have bad capacitors inside. If you try using a different power supply and it still does it. You might have faulty memory modules. You will need to burn the ISO to a Cd-r from this website http://www.memtest86.com/ to test the memory. It will automatically start the testing. if there is any errors remove the memory modules around or replace with a working module from another pc until the errors quit showing up in memtest.

It would also help if you can tell us if this error says like.. BAD_pool_caller PFN_list_corrupted IRQL_less_than_or_equal to, W2k.sys or anything thats shown on the top left part of the screen. If you need to uncheck automatic restart in system properties advance tab then in startup and Recovery settings.

you will desire to bypass into your BIOS Setup purchase restrating your laptop and oftentimes it takes a success on the F1 key yet that depemds on the motherboard/BIOS producer...once you start up your laptop the BIOS will take place on the reveal in the previous homestead windows starts off...you will see on the backside of the reveal which key you will desire to press to get admission to the BIOS...do so and bypass into the homes and check out your onboard video adapter...then disable it...yet verify the video card you want to apply is put in in the previous you try this!
