No one is pulling a joke on me. My automatic opener keeps activating and opening the door at all times of the day.

Reprogram the door. We reprogram ours for security purposes at least once a year.
Have you lost one transmitter? Can you account for all transmitters. If not, reprogram the door.
There is a manual override on all doors. Do you have a rodent that trips the override? Squirrel? rat? cat?

You have a bad sending unit. In the old days we would, as teen agers looking for something to do, could go down the street and jingle a set of cars keys to see how many garage doors would open. At the end of the block, half the doors would be opening or closing. They have filters in them now because of this, a radio would open a door or the slamming of a door. Check the unit and get a new one.

Oh my this happened to me a lot! Some one close by has the same fequency than the one that your garage door operates on.

The easiest way is to change your frequency and before installing it - walk by all your closest neigbours and press your remote. Just to make sure no one has the same frequency that you are about to install.
